The 2012 Amsterdam Music Hack Day saw us develop a synth which runs exclusively in the browser. The technology facilitating this is being actively developed by Martin Roth, with whom we worked over the weekend.

Based loosely on the famous Roland Juno synthesizer, we were able to add a slew of nice user features, such as:

  • - scale and key limiters, meaning you can easily sound very musical
  • - envelopers, allowing you to control the sound
  • - stereo delay and tremolo effects

All synthesis was being done live in the browser, thus representing a very exciting step forward in the landscape of interactive music on the web.
